Exploring professional skills last semester, led me to the SMART system for prioritizing tasks. This time I decided to incorporate this into my work at a greater length.

Following each briefing, I establish goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound for the week ahead. I rank tasks based on their urgency and importance and set aside some time for unplanned tasks that might pop up. Tracking these goals makes it easier to notice if I'm lagging behind on any particular task because it starts to spill into the next week.
This technique has been especially helpful in the pre-visualization module led by our tutor, Alan, given the diverse tasks our groups undertake. Although it wasn't the best method for spotting delays in this module—where I usually excel and seldom let tasks carry over—it significantly helped me see that more time-consuming tasks like polishing and researching vastly outweigh simpler tasks like blocking in or filming. As a result, I now prioritize these demanding tasks over the easier, quicker ones.
Weekends typically find me engaged in Maya projects and creative pursuits. I tackle more structured activities such as character mechanics during weekdays, leaving the weekends free for my personal learning projects (PLP). This schedule makes my weekends more pleasurable and less constrained.
Evaluating my progress showed that I feel quite confident in this area and rarely fall behind. I organized my measurable achievements into smaller tasks for my Jump Animation project, like researching, blocking, filming, splining, and polishing. This breakdown allowed me to meet my deadlines efficiently, distributing tasks throughout the module for manageable workloads. This strategy has been more effective than last semester's, particularly in pinpointing when I complete my assigned tasks.
The structure of our modules is already conducive to good time management, with well-timed lessons and gradually faster-paced tasks that accommodate our growth. Maintaining a specific plan as I have helps keep track of tasks in environments that might lack such organization.
